Prof. Robert delivers keynote at Media Trends 2011 Conference

Prof. Mary Robert, Professor of Lens Media and Chair of the Department of Arts & Sciences, recently lectured in Geneva, Switzerland at the Global Media Conference, Media Trends 2011: Women’s Rights and Gender Equality.

Focusing on the ways in which the media can be used to advocate equality and create social change, the conference was wide reaching. Professor Robert’s lecture featured a selection of her photographic portraits of an Istanbul based community.

The other keynote speaker was former Egyptian Minister of Family and Population, Ambassador Dr. Moushira Khattab, who spoke of her work with Egypt’s Child Law and the impact of the media on the recent revolution in Egypt.
