Prof. Ira Konstantinou Attends XXIII Annual BPS Cognitive Section

Assistant Professor of Psychology

Assistant Professor of Psychology Ira Konstantinou attended the XXIII Annual BPS Cognitive Section at Lancaster University on September 6th – 8th. She presented the research she did in collaboration with John M. Gardiner of the University of Sussex.

Dr. Konstantinou was born in Greece and attended the American University of Greece. She graduated with a degree in Psychology and continued her education in City University London, where she pursued a PhD in Cognitive Psychology. Her doctorate thesis studied different kinds of awareness that accompany the memory of faces.

Her research entitled “Study trials and memory awareness when recognizing own-race versus other-race faces” explores memory awareness and face recognition, and is very close in nature to the subject of her thesis.
