Presidential Scholar Reception

On Thursday 23 November 2006 President Norman Smith hosted a very special evening for Richmond's first-year Presidential Scholars.

46 students with an academic Grade Point Average of 3.4 and higher, the academic cream-of-the-crop, attended the President's private residence for a reception.

The reception was followed by a Royal Albert Hall concert. Over one million people have marvelled at the incredible lights, lasers and special effects that make "Classical Spectacular" a unique experience.

Over 250 performers took to the stage and the Royal Albert Hall resounded to the world's best classical music including brand new pieces as well as all time favorites, including: Rule, Britannia!, Jerusalem, Nessun Dorma, Land of Hope & Glory and many more, ending with thundering cannons, muskets and indoor fireworks of the 1812 Overture. A truly spectacular evening.
