Postal Strike - Royal Mail Service Disruption
Postal strikes will hit large areas of London and southern England this week. Postal workers will stage one-day strikes at 44 depots across south-west London, Essex and Bristol today, with further strikes expected later. A nationwide postal strike may be called within the next 10 business days.
We urge you to send material to the University by e-mail (scanned copy) or by private courier service to ensure delivery.
Additional Information from Royal Mail
- The great majority of mail delivery and collection services are operating normally across the country today, Monday 12th October.
- Staff at 12 delivery offices (DOs) in South West London, 18 DOs in the Bristol area, as well as DOs at Brentwood, Irvine and Hadfield, will all be taking industrial action today, affecting deliveries in those parts for the country.
- Although there are no stoppages planned for Tuesday 13th, on Wednesday, collections, processing and deliveries will all be disrupted across many parts of London.
- There is a delay to mail at the moment of around 1-2 days in most parts of London and around 3-4 days in parts of the SW and SE postal districts.
