A Welcome Message from the new Student Union

Welcome to a new year at Richmond, The American International University in London!

In an effort to create a more active and representative voice for students, this past summer oversaw the establishment of a new student representative body, The Richmond Student Union. The Student Union shall act as a resource for all students and societies to voice their opinions and ideas. The Student Union shall function as a network between the student body and the administration. In taking your ideas it will also hold events and seek to feature student talent while enhancing the overall university experience.

The Student Union is ongoing in its development and thus offers possibilities for students to shape and change it. There will be multiple events throughout the year which will allow dedicated students to steer the direction of the Student Union. There will be events occurring within the next several weeks which include University-wide forums, guest lectures and the annual Start of Term Party, to name just a few.

As an organization that is directed by students and for students, student involvement is vital. Therefore the Student Union is structured in a way that provides flexibility as well as the opportunity for all committed students to become involved. Please visit your local Student Union Office in Richmond (former student activities office) and in Kensington (Atlantic House, to the right of reception). In addition to checking the Student Union notice boards, the Student Union committee is contactable by email and telephone.

We will be holding our first student forum in Orchard House on Tuesday September 11th at 7:00PM
