MA Art History and Visual Culture Visits the Venice Biennale

27/10/2011

The MA Art History and Visual Culture spent Fall Reading Week visiting Illuminazioni, the 54th edition of the Venice Biennale. The trip included visits to the Giardini, the Arsenale and off-site national pavilions and projects, as well as Museo Correr, Gallerie dell'Accademia, The Peggy Guggenheim Collection, François Pinault Foundation and more. Established in 1895, the Venice Biennale is one of the most important events in the international art world's calendar. The exhibition and the events around it provided an exciting context for MA students to explore the ideas and concepts they are discussing in their classes.
