MA Alumna Lindsay Shannon - career news
MA Alumna Lindsay Shannon recently completed an internship at the House Foundation, Iowa. Lindsay studied at Richmond 2004-2005, and has worked in the Conservation Studio at Parks Library, Iowa. She went on to an appointment as Library Preservation Intern at the Salisbury House Foundation in 2006. Her article (see URL below) reports on a polypropylene cover which Lindsay beta-tested for 'Archival' - supplying all major libraries and institutions in the U.S. including the Library of Congress, Harvard, Julliard, etc. The product was launched with a product brochure illustrated by her work. In her current position with Blanden Art Museum as Registrar and Curator of Permanent Collections, Lindsay will be curating two shows opening in 2009; one will consist of artifacts from the women's suffrage movement to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the 19th ammendment passing. And,to prepare for the other exhibition, she will be attending the Institute of Jewish Art in New York to earn a certificate in Judaica. Then, in 2008, Lindsay will begin graduate work in art history at the University of Iowa.
