Julia Hathaway Publishes Research Article
15/03/2011
In her article ‘Stealing Voices, Wearing Masks: how student writers can explore and assume new academic writing identities’ she analyses instances of student writing and classroom practices in terms of identity and epistemological shifts. She argues that this analysis can open up exploration and interrogation of how academic writing works leading to more critical understanding and meaningful learning.
The paper was presented at the international ESP conference in Kavala, Greece in May 2010. It is based on substantial experience of teaching Principles of Academic Research, one of the excellent courses that comprise Richmond’s core Academic Writing and Research Program.
