IASA Team continues its Winning Ways Over the Weekend.
The IASA team, known as UK Richmond, in the West Yorkshire league continued its winning ways with goals from Nahki Wells ( Bermuda)and Kevin Acevedo (Virginia) over the weekend. Brandon Roane (Texas) continues to look dangerous in this league and his recent performances have earned him time on the squad at Eccleshill in the semi pro NCEL set up. The recent win puts the IASA team near the top of the league and they are still unbeaten this season with two wins and two draws at this early stage of the season. However, Football Director Mark Ellis demands more from the players, as he was not totally satisfied with the performance.
Mark Ellis indicated that although the result was a win for the IASA boys he believed they were sloppy at times and expects more from some of the players with respect to quality. Mark indicated, ‘I want and expect the more talented IASA players to compete at the highest levels every game. Mark’s motto is to be never satisfied and he stated, “ I thought one or two of the players were too comfortable rather than pushing themselves further to make their performance even better. We need to have the boys totally committed at all times and play at a higher level than they showed at times today. There is more to the game than results, I’m looking at performances as it’s my job to develop these players to their highest level possible and I need total commitment every game. I felt that was lacking a little today from some”.
As the IASA team were climbing the league, five of the IASA players were representing Eccelshill Untied in the semi professional NCEL. Eccleshill played two games over the past four days – winning both – on Saturday Joey Spivack scored two goals one of which was as screaming shot from 30 yards out. Joey continues to shine in the league and his performance has not gone unnoticed by Eccleshill manager Ian Banks former Professional at Bradford City FC. The IASA players representing Eccleshill today, Monday August 30th, in their 3-1 win that took them to the top of the NCEL league were, Joey Spivack (New Jeresey), Karl Martens (Vancouver, Canada), Brandon Roane (Texas), Kjell Stray-Gundersen (Texas) and Patrick Baldarremos (California).
