Richmond's students at the Hyman Kreitman
Reading Rooms with Maria White, the Chief Cataloguer
Students from the new Book Art (Special Projects) course visited the Hyman Kreitman Reading Rooms at The Tate Library and Archives on Friday 12th February. Maria White, the Chief Cataloguer of the Tate’s holding of Bookworks, introduced this important national collection to Richmond students with a selection of over one hundred examples. Students were able to examine these books as The Reading Rooms had been exclusively reserved for them.
Katie Finlay, an Adam Senior, said, “It is a real pleasure to have such notable resources as an integral part of our undergraduate programme. To have respected institutions like the Tate Archives available to us is beyond valuable.”. Alessandra Lupski, an IR Senior, felt that, “The visit was inspirational. It gave me a range of ideas to develop my own work”.
