Richmond Welcomed Josef Perl, Holocaust Survivor

Perl's Book, Faces in the Smoke

Holocaust survivor, Mr. Josef Perl and his wife visited Richmond last week to tell his gripping story of life as a Jew during WWII. The library lecture hall was filled with students who were eager to learn about such a tragic part of history through the eyes of a firsthand witness.
Perl's childhood was torn apart as he was sent to several concentration camps, witnessed the murder of his mother and siblings by the nazis and was separated from his father for 26 years.
We would like to thank all of the students and members of staff who attended this unique guest lecture experience and we hope to continue bringing more people from the community in to the University to supplement learning in the classroom.
