Ham School Students get a Glimpse of University Life

On Friday, November 26th, Year 6 pupils from Ham School visited the Richmond Hill Campus. The students arrived at 10:00am and were greeted by Dr. Christine Zaher and the Community Service Club. They were immediately whisked away on a tour of the campus grounds followed by a visit to the Fitness Centre and Common Room. After this, they were met by Dr. Bolton who engaged them in several interactive tasks in the science laboratory, followed by a tour around the Main Building to see Cafe Del Mondo, the Theatre room and the computer labs. Jaclyn Hadjipieris and Allison Cole-Stutz met the studentes in Lycett room to discuss the many activities there are available to University students on and off of the campus. Of course the most exciting part of the day was probably lunch in the dining hall, where the students excitedly huddled around the ice cream. Lunchtime was followed by a visit to the library, a tour of a few classrooms and a visit to the Art Studio with Dr. Danziger. The day ended with the students collecting their Richmond Goody Bags and a warm farewell by all who were involved.
A great big thank-you goes out to Dr. Christine Zaher and the Community Service Club for working towards making a difference in the lives of youth in the Richmond area.
