Greener Upon Thames on Campus: Plastic- Where do you think it goes?

Richmond MP, Zac Goldsmith

On November 4th, 2010 Richmond University and the Green Project along with Richmond TV welcomed Richmond MP, Zac Goldsmith, and Roz Savage, the British ocean rower, environmental campaigner and author. The event highlighted the problems of plastic usage within the UK and the steps that can be taken to make London and the 2012 Olympics free of plastic bags.

Short films emphasizing the problems caused by plastics were shown followed by a talk by Zac Goldsmith and a short presentation by Roz Savage which highlighted her work and her new book which was on sale at the event.
Later in the evening the floor was open for a Q&A session for the panel. Various people raised the problems they are experiencing around Richmond as well as beyond with a possible solution and ideas put forward by Zac Goldsmith and Roz Savage.

With over 90 attendees the event was a great success. Short coverage of the event along with interviews with Zac Goldsmith and Roz Savage will be available to watch on the next episode of RTV, so please stay tuned! Thank you to The Green Project and RTV!
