Finance Society Newsletter

The Richmond University Finance Society invites you to attend “Retiring the Pension System,” delivered by Ivan K. Cohen, Ph.D. on Tuesday, November 7, from 18:00 - 19:00, in Seminar 1, 17 Young Street, Kensington. Pensions systems around the world are affected by changing demographics, namely an increasing number of benefactors, and a shortage of contributors. In their present state, most systems are unsustainable in the long run. Are pension reforms progressive enough, or should more radical measures be introduced to ensure the survival of post-employment income? Perhaps the current systems should be retired altogether. Attendance is welcomed to the entire student body.

Career Workshop

The Richmond University Finance Society invites you to attend “Teamwork,” an interactive workshop delivered by Naomi Johnson on Friday, November 10, from 15:00 - 17:00, in the Library Classroom on Richmond campus. The workshop will be dedicated to teamwork and teambuilding, which forms a fundamental component of upper division coursework at the university, as well as in the corporate environment. The guest speaker will also distribute and discuss psychometric tests, which are an inevitable component of the job application process. The workshop is specially designed for lower division students and members of Residence Life, whose attendance is strongly encouraged.
