Rock the Boat: Richmond’s Costume Boat Party

Remember, remember the fifth of November as the day of Richmond’s boat party aboard the “Golden Flame.” Around 100 students and faculty sailed off down the Thames, dancing and having a great time.

The theme of the party – a costume ball – called for some intriguing entries: Santa, Amy Winehouse, bumble bees, Greek philosophers, cabaret dancers, cowboys, cats, Things 1 & 2, hippies and more. The dance floor was packed at all times as the DJ played songs from the 70’s to some of today’s greatest hits.

There were also people enjoying the view out on the open deck. During the tour, students saw some of London’s famous landmarks such as the London Eye, Tower Bridge, the O2 Arena, and Big Ben.

Students from both Richmond’s Study Abroad and Degree programs showed up to the party and celebrated Guy Fawkes Day like no other!
