Dr Robert J. Wallis to present paper at Theoretical Archaeology Group Conference, University of Sheffield 19-21st December 2005
Dr Robert J. Wallis, Associate Professor of Visual Culture and Associate Director of the MA in Art History, is to present a paper at the 'Theoretical Archaeology Group Conference' (TAG) at the University of Sheffield (http://www.shef.ac.uk/archaeology/tag2005/). The paper, co-authored with Dr Jenny Blain (Sheffield Hallam University), is entitled 'Alternative worldviews and the performance heritage' and will be a part of the session 'Situating Performanes of Humanity'. The paper marks further output from the ongoing (since 2000) 'Sacred Sites, Contested Rites/Rights Project' examining contemporary pagan representations of the past and especially engagments with ancient sites in the UK (www.sacredsites.org.uk). Wallis and Blain's book of the same title is due out with Sussex Academic Press in late 2006.
