Dr. Rafal Soborski to publish a book with Palgrave
13/05/2011
Dr Rafal Soborski has had his book accepted for publication by Palgrave in early 2012. The book, entitled ‘Ideology in a Global Age: Continuity and Change’, will engage with the question of whether long-standing ideological currents have been capable of absorbing the new idea of globalization in ways that do not undermine their integrity or whether, as some scholars have argued, they have been disrupted by the force of the new concept to the extent that they no longer make sense. Since globalization is a broad and multidimensional subject, to focus on how major ideological currents have positioned themselves on its advancement entails examining their interpretations of key political issues: the nature of the community, the role of the state, the benefits and the costs of the markets. Thus, while the ideologies under discussion will be examined in terms of their alignments on globalization, the book will also provide a more general account of their condition in the early twenty-first century.
