Dr Michael F. Keating
Associate Professor of International Political Economy

On Friday the 13th of January, Dr Michael F. Keating gave a guest lecture to Warwick Business School's Global Energy MBA program students. The title of the lecture was 'Energy Politics in the European Union', part of a series of guest lectures in the Energy in Global Politics module. The students were all professionals in the energy sector, with at least 10 years of experience in the workplace.

Dr Keating completed his PhD in PAIS at Warwick university, but the invitation to guest lecture came out of the Political Economy of Energy in Europe and Russia (PEEER) network, of which Dr Keating is a steering committtee member.

Dynamics of Energy Governance in Europe and Russia, to be published by Palgrave Macmillan in March 2012, is the result of a series of PEEER conferences. Dr Caroline Kuzemko, the Energy in Global Politics module coordinator, is one of Dr Keating's co-editors on this project, while Professor David Elmes, Director of the Global Energy MBA program, is one of the authors. The guest lecture built upon Dr Keating's chapter in this forthcoming volume, titled 'Re-Thinking EU Energy Security: The Utility of Global Best Practices for Successful Transnational Energy Governance'.
