Dr. Martin Brown To Give Paper

Dr. Martin Brown

On Wednesday Dr Martin D. Brown will be giving a paper at an international conference marking the 70th anniversary of the Munich Agreement in 1938, and the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Communist government in Czechoslovakia in 1948. His paper is entitled: ‘Is “Transfer” merely a euphemism for “Ethnic Cleansing”? From the Munich to the Potsdam Agreements: the origins of a concept and the evolution of a debate’.

The conference, ‘Exile in and from Czechoslovakia during the 1930s and 1940s’, will be held in London 17 to 19 September 2008, organised by the Research Centre for German & Austrian Exile Studies at the Institute of Germanic & Romance Studies, University of London.
