Dr. Eunice Goes to address University of Hull on the Public Sphere

Dr. Eunice Goes was invited to address the Institute of Applied Ethics, based at the University of Hull, on the 11th of October. In the paper, “Discourses Do Not Govern: Power, the Public Sphere and Institutions, Dr. Goes’s paper addressed the limited ability of the public sphere to effect change in society. Using the Arab Spring as a case-study, the paper examined the potential of deliberative institutions to strengthen voice of the public sphere and civil society.

This paper is a continuation of Dr. Goes ongoing research on deliberative democracy.
