Community Service Club Makes a Difference

Community Service Club
Participants of the Richmond University Community Service Club raised and donated £700 to St Richard's with St Andrew's Primary School. This contribution aided the creation of a sensory garden for the pupils. Without this donation, the garden would not have been completed. The Community Service Club has sponsored this school, of which Richmond’s own Dr. Christine Zaher is a governor. It is a school in a deprived area which relies on such donations in order to give pupils special experiences, such as a sensory garden. Pupils will be maintaining and developing (and of course enjoying!) the garden themselves. It is a wonderful project. Rebecca Ashe, the President of the club, came to the school to present the cheque to the staff and pupils.
The Community Service Club’s purpose is to unite students from both campuses and partake in activities that strengthen the bond of the University and the Richmond community. The Community Service Club also creates and hosts fundraising events to help various charities and important causes. The club is advised by Vice President and Dean of Enrollment, Mark S. Kopenski.
