The fifty-one Chinese students who participated in Richmond's International Internship Program from October 2006 until the end of February, 2007 celebrated the completion of the program and their successful internship experiences in London.

On Thursday evening, 22 February, 2007 the Ceremony of Completion began at 6:30 p.m. in the Garden Room of Maria Assumpta Center on Kensington Square. The internship advisors all attended, as did members of the Department for Education and Skills who had worked to bring this program to reality with Richmond. Robert Leppard, Director of the Internship Program.

Two of the interns with Richmond Professor Kim Sturgess
who taught the culture course in the program and also
served as an advisor to interns along with other
Richmond faculty.

Robert Leppard opened the ceremony and introduced President, Norman Smith, who awarded the certificates individually to each of the interns. Each intern collected his or her certificate from Dr. Smith and Provost Dr. Jos Hackforth-Jones.

Specially designed certificates mounted on a wooden plaque were presented to each intern individually.

The celebrations continued afterwards allowing many photos to be taken for the memory book. Richmond welcomes each participant into the Alumni Association.

This first group of interns returned to China in the days following the ceremony. The second group of interns arrived in London from various locations in China and began their program on 20 March, 2007.

Robert Leppard, Director of the Internship Program, Francesca Kazan, Associate Director, International Internship Program and Elizabeth Robertson, Administrative Assistant, Department of Business & Economics work together to find placements for all these students.
