On June 24, 1509 Henry VIII and his first wife Catherine of Aragon were anointed and crowned together here.

The Tower of London

Catherine Howard and Anne Boleyn were both executed at the Tower which is currently hosting an exhibition of original weapons and armour associated with Henry VIII, dramatically displayed on specially sculpted white horses.

Hampton Court Palace

Displayed in Henry VIII’s Council Chamber, which has never before been open to the public, ‘Henry’s Women’ is a display consisting of portraits of the king’s wives and his daughters Mary and Elizabeth, alongside personal artefacts such as Henry’s rosary, a lock of Kateryn Parr’s blonde hair and the only surviving letter from Catherine Howard.

Windsor Castle

Henry’s buried in St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, along with his third wife, Jane Seymour. The 900-year-old castle- the oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world- played host to Henry VIII and his court on many occasions and a year-long exhibition of paintings, drawings, miniatures, prints, books and manuscripts currently illuminates the reign of a king who had a profound impact on British history.
