Amnesty International

22/09/2011

Richmond’s Amnesty International club campaigned to promote the education of women in Afghanistan.
At the first meeting of the year of this lively club, students joined with members from the Richmond and Twickenham branch of Amnesty International to write letters to the Foreign Secretary, William Hague asking him to represent the interests of the women of Afghanistan, particularly in the area of education at the planned peace conference in early December. There was a presentation by Vonti Bright, the club’s president and contributions from all the officers. There is a full and varied program of Amnesty events for the semester.
