ALUMNA SELECTED OUT OF 6000 APPLICANTS

Nora Kovacheva
Nora Kovacheva, Class of 2001, has been selected to work in the European Parliament in Brussels after a rigourous series of examinations to qualify. Nora was one of 100 successful competitors out of a total 6000 applicants in the Competition for Bulgarian and Romanian Citizens. This exam had been the third in a series of exams she has taken starting in 2006, and Nora has successfully passed each time.
Nora now works as an ‘Administrator’ attached to one of the 20 Committees in the European Parliament in Brussels---the Committee dealing with Industry, Research and Energy covering the industry dossier. Nora says that “It is one of the most interesting committees, since we cover all the main dossiers of European importance, the 3rd Energy package (market liberalisation, renewables etc), the telecoms packaging (roaming legislation), Eurovignette, safety of toys and space policy legislation”.
