A Message from the President

Dear Colleagues,

We have now completed a contractual agreement with SunGard to install the PowerCampus integrated software system. SunGard, a US firm, has a great deal of experience in supporting the administrative computing needs of smaller colleges and universities. When completed, the system will fully integrate all student, financial, admissions, alumni, student services and human resources data. This system will mark a major step forward for Richmond by bringing our administrative computing fully up-to-date.

During the coming months, there will be a great deal of data conversion and faculty and staff training to enable the system to be fully functional. There is a great deal of work to be done, but I know from having gone through a system conversation in the past that the results are well worth the time and effort. Ade Akanji and Jane Silverleaf will be heading up the administrative team for installation and training and you will be hearing more from them as we move forward. This will be a busy year - in transition, but I am confident that we have the dedication and support of faculty and staff to make this a successful development.
