4th Annual U.S. Counselor Fly-in

The 4th Annual U.S. Counselor Fly-in was once again a great success. Seven Guidance Counselors from across the United States visited both the Richmond Hill Campus and the Kensington Campus from March 25 - 28. On Sunday evening, the group was hosted by Dr. Norman Smith and his wife, Dr. Susan Robinson at their flat overlooking Hyde Park and the Royal Albert Hall. Several faculty members and the admissions office staff joined in the festivities as well. Following cocktails and hor d'oevers the group attended the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra's Laser Spectacular next door at the Royal Albert Hall. This festive concert featured not only a laser light show but also indoor fireworks complete with canons for the 1812 Overture!

On Monday the group travelled by Tube out to the Richmond Hill Campus, where they were greeted by students who gave them tours of the campus and took them to lunch in the cafeteria. Following lunch, the group attended a class and got a chance to mingle with other students.

The visit to the Hill was concluded with a trip to one of the local pubs where the group posed for a group picture. That evening they attended a performance of "Billy Elliott---The Musical"---a must see in London

On Tuesday, the group walked to the Kensington Campus where they were greeted by Fay Poosti, Director of Housing and Student Life at Kensington, who gave at tour of Atlantic House. A student ambassador walked the group to Asa Briggs Hall and Young Street. A typical "Pub Lunch" ended the day leaving the afternoon for shopping at Harrods, taking a spin on the London Eye, visiting Parliament, the British Museum or the Tate Modern Art Museum. Several picked up some last minute seats to the theatre for that evening.

Wednesday everyone made their own way to the airport for their journey home.
