Professor David Palmer
Since 2003 David has divided his time between teaching and consultancy. During this period he has held visiting professor positions at the Berlin School of Economics, Regent’s Business School (London), Richmond University and IESE (Barcelona). He has taught graduate and post graduate classes in strategy, multinational business and European business.
Through his firm Millbank Partners Limited, David’s clients have ranged from biotech through consumer electronics to cosmetic packaging. He works at the board level and delivers strategic and governance advice to small, medium and ambitious family businesses and start-ups. Typically he will seek to help the shareholders to build realisable enterprise value and/or achieve a successful exit.
David also specialises in turnaround management. As CEO he has led the reconstruction of consumer products; software and beauty accessories businesses. He has also led a number of M&A projects: the most recent being the acquisition of a UK packaging company in 2009, followed in 2010 by the merger of a series of international packaging companies into one consolidated global group.
David’s career began as a management trainee in IBM; then to British Telecom as a programmer and systems analyst; thereafter to General Electric (USA) as an account manager, business unit manager and international sales executive; and following his fulltime MBA at INSEAD to BP where he worked in systems, gas and as Managing Director of the Iberian consumer products division.
David has an MBA from INSEAD and is fluent in Spanish.
