Mr Dennis de Caires
Dennis de Caires was born in Georgetown, Guyana. He studied Painting at Winchester School of Art, The Royal College and Cité International Des Arts in Paris. He has exhibited extensively, including one-person shows at The Raab Gallery - London, The Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art - Colorado, The Umana Yana - Georgetown, Queens Park Gallery and The Barbados Museum and Historical Society in Barbados. He was given a retrospective at The National Gallery of Art in Georgetown in Guyana in 2009-10.
He was a Senior Research Fellow at De Montfort University from 1994 -2000 where he worked on a major digital printmaking collaboration with IBM. He has taught at several English institutions and, more recently, was Head of The Fine Art Studio Programme at Barbados Community College.
He is a painter and his primary interests are colour and drawing and the relationship between the two.
