Dr Ana Oliveira

Assistant Professor of Mathematics

Born in Portugal, Ana Oliveira completed her undergraduate studies in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Porto. After that she travelled to the UK where she completed an MSc from Oxford University followed by a PhD at Imperial College in Nonlinear Dynamics and Neural Networks. In 1998 she joined the University College of London for a post-doc in the centre for Nonlinear Dynamics where she also taught the MSc of Nonlinear Dynamics.

After years of doing research and teaching she started a career in Management Consulting in McKinsey & Co, followed by 6 years in retail banking both in the US and UK.

In the year 2008, with a young family of 3 children, Ana Oliveira decided to return to academia and joined Richmond where she has been teaching Fundamentals of Mathematics, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Probability and Statistics and other Math courses.
