Richmond Park from the air

Richmond Park is the largest Royal Park in London and is situated just a stone throw from the Richmond Hill campus. It measures almost 1000 hectares (2500 acres), and is home to around 650 free roaming deer.

The pastoral landscape of hills, woodlands, ponds, gardens and grasslands set amongst ancient trees offers a peaceful respite to visitors. The Park is designated as a National Nature Reserve (NNR), a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and a Special Area of Conservation (SAC).

An extremely wide range of sports are available in the Park, from informal kickabouts to horse-riding to club rugby. To find out what's going on, visit the Royal Parks website.

Students are encouraged to make use of the Park as much as they can, and to take the University's sports equipment to the park. Visit the main sports page for a list of available equipment for rent, free of charge.

All runs take place within Richmond Park, on the road during the winter and multi-terrain during the summer.

The club is not all about elite runners, competition and performance. It has members who started their running with the Sheen Shufflers, picked up again after long periods of absence, or those who simply run for fun and fitness.
