The ever-popular Powder Puff Football Game

The ever-popular Powder Puff Football Game

The University’s recreational court located in the front of the Richmond campus, plays host to various intramural activities such as football (soccer) games and basketball competitions. Football (soccer) and basketball matches are held weekly. Teams may be formed in advance or you can simply show up and enjoy the fun!

The University also hires out local gymnasiums throughout Richmond and Kingston where volleyball and football (soccer) matches are held. It is free of charge to University students. These activities usually occur during the weekend.

Old Deer Park in Richmond also hosts a variety of football (soccer) matches throughout the term. A tournament between a staff and faculty team versus a team of students is conducted in Old Deer Park each semester. It is always good fun and a great opportunity to teach your professors a thing or two about sports!

The University will also occasionally compete against other universities in the area. Intramural teams and games are regularly organized through ResLife. If you have an idea or would like to organize a team, contact your RA or the Activities Office.

Yoga

Hi! My name is Tina and I am teaching Yoga at Richmond University continuing every Thursday from 5:15-6:30pm in the Library Lecture Hall 1, Main Building, Hill Campus. I have been studying yoga for 20 years and have taught classes for 10 years.

Yoga is a way of life and is a system that integrates body, mind and spirit. In class we focus on a series of postures focusing on the the way we breath, and through these practices we gain more strength, flexibility, fitness, and ways to handle stress in our everyday lives. Yoga is for everyone although a level of fitness or body awareness if helpful.

If you decide to give the yoga class a try, wear loose clothing, bring a towel or mat to work on and try not to eat up to 2 hours before class. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions and I look forward to teaching you!
