We can assist with general problem solving for any questions associated with student life.
As well as looking after the academic program, Director Paul Lloyd is also responsible for student affairs at RIASA, and in collaboration with student staff members, organises student activities and events.
Our main office for student services is in Carnegie Hall on the Carnegie Campus. The staff operate an open-door policy, allowing students to drop by with questions or concerns, and private appointments are also available upon request. The staff are available late into the night and are around on weekends.

Report from Fong Her, who attended the game
The whole experience was much more phenomenal then what I had anticipated. First of all the excitement begun when I got off the bus and saw the Reebok Stadium in the distance. When I finally reached the stadium, the Chelsea players were arriving in their massive bus to the players' entrance. I had the opportunity to see Chelsea players, some of whom the world is familiar with; Frank Lampard, John Terry, Didier Drogba, Ashley Cole, Peter Cech, and more. Although Fernando Torres wasn't present. After that I finally went to find my seat. I was an hour early so I spent my time admiring how amazing the Reebok Stadium is. Then suddenly the Bolton Wanderers and Chelsea players came onto the pitch for their warm-up. To see the best of the best warming-up right before my eyes was unexplainable. The game was very entertaining as the score was Chelsea 5-1 Bolton Wanderers. With the first goal coming within the first 5 min. of the match. Frank Lampard also scored a hat-trick and after the match I actually got his autograph. It was an unforgettable experience and I look forward to future opportunities to go to more EPL games. Thank you very much!

The Manchester trip saw the students visit the city on what looked like the last nice day of the year. The sun was shining and Salford Quays looked impressive, as the boys took a look at the Imperial War Museum North, The Lowry and, of course, Old Trafford, before spending an hour wandering around the Picadilly shopping area.

The Office of Student Activities in London
The Office of Student Activities at Richmond also offers a wide range of services and programs to promote student leadership, encourage personal development, and provide social opportunities. Student leadership can be explored through participating in clubs and societies, working as an activities or sports assistant, volunteering as an Orientation Leader, or getting involved with the Student Union.
In addition, the Office of Student Activities is a resource for students interested in exploring London, traveling around the UK and adventuring into mainland Europe. Throughout the year the Office also organizes social events on and off campus such as Movie Nights, Comedy Nights, theatre trips, sports competitions and more.
Honors Night
One of the main student affairs events of the year, Honors Night is the formal ceremony held every Spring to recognize students who have excelled in the academic and extra-curricular life of the University. Invitation to Honors Night is an achievement in itself, and RIASA students have already been invited to this prestigious event.
Academic Awards
Students who are on the Dean’s list (with a GPA of 3.4 or above) for two consecutive semesters in the Spring and Fall (or Fall only for Freshman) are invited to attend Honors Night. At the ceremony they receive a framed certificate to mark their achievement.
We also honor a select number of outstanding senior students who in the judgment of faculty have excelled in their major field of study. In addition, non-seniors (that is juniors, sophomores and freshmen), selected by faculty because of their academic excellence, are also honored and receive a framed certificate.
Our Mission
The role of Student Affairs in fulfilling the RIASA mission is to advocate for students to ensure that they are the main focus in all decisions and actions central to the overall development of the student learning experience. We aim to accomplish this in partnership with Academic Affairs by offering programs and services which positively impact learning as well as the total student life experience. Our goal is to help develop leadership skills that will enable students to excel in a global environment and to foster appreciation, sensitivity and respect for ethnic diversity and tolerance for cultural and individual differences.
