Amongst other search engines on this site there are links to hundreds of regional and local search engines and country specific Web directories located around the world and arranged by region: Africa, Asia, Americas, Europe, Middle East and Oceania.
CurryGuide offers extensive web searches in a regional context with options to search 32 individual countries, Europe, the USA and the Entire Web.
The "European Search Engine for Europeans". The user interface is available in twenty two European languages, you can limit the links search to one of those languages and you can limit the search to specific European countries, regions, and domains.
The search database is heavily oriented towards European web sites, indexing and storing entire documents in their original language and localized fonts including special European language fonts. EuroSeek claims to be able to index 18 million pages a week.
This link is to the same Lycos site mentioned on the search engines page. However, there is an option to limit your search to just within the UK (as opposed to Worldwide).
Searchengine.com started life as searchuk.com which, by 1999, indexed over 10 million pages, 700,000 web sites, 250,000 domains, and 26 million UK residential and business postal addresses. In July 1999 searchUK broke from its founding company, Steljes Ltd., to form its own private Limited company - Searchengine.com Limited.

This is a useful site in that it gives lists of regional search engines from around the world: Africa, the Americas, Asia, Australia & New Zealand, Europe, and the Middle East. There are also 4 regional search engines by language.
Like the link to Lycos, this will link to the Yahoo! site which offers the ability to search just within the UK or Ireland.
