Intute Health and Life Sciences (formerly BIOME) - A free online service providing access to the very best web resources for education and research, evaluated and selected by a network of subject specialists. Includes the sub-sections:

Intute also offers the Internet for the History and Philosophy of Science tutorial (part of the Intute Virtual Training Suite) - Compiled and maintained by Dr David Mossley, Leeds University.

Naked Scientists Online - Began as a weekly radio show, and online you can listen to broadcasts in RealMedia. There is also an archive of articles (e.g. GM plants, cloning, battle of the sexes) and interviews with famous scientists.

Natural Science - An online journal, and a gateway to scientific resources.

The Scientific World - includes:

  • SciBase - Search the world's scientific literature dating back to 1965 and purchase single articles online
  • MethodsBase - Search, browse and locate the most modern methods and protocols in the life sciences
  • The Scientific World Journal - A multidisciplinary journal for the life and environmental sciences

NSDL Scout Reports - Information from the National Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Education Digital Library. The Internet Scout Project's NSDL Scout Reports offer high quality information about online resources, including:

  • NSDL Scout Report for Life Sciences - Biology, Zoology, Ecology, Botany, and other Life Science topics.
  • NSDL Scout Report for Physical Sciences - Geology, Chemistry, Astronomy, Physics, and other Physical Science topics.
  • NSDL Report for Math, Engineering, and Technology - Industrial Engineering, Calculus, Algebra, Geometry, Civil Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Environmental Engineering, Computer Sciences, Human Factors, Hardware, and Software, and related topics.
