BUBL maps - Access to collections of resources for the following areas:

Concierge.com - Find maps for anywhere on Earth, searching by city, state, or country.

Goodes World Atlas - Focuses on US state maps. Alternatively downlaod a thematic map such as world birth or death rates, education attainment or world refugees. These maps are better printed out than viewed on screen.

MapBlast - Maps addresses and cities and can customize the maps to include specific information.

MapQuest - Go to the maps icon (as shown above) to search for maps by country. Also offers driving directions and travel guides.

Maps.com - Maps.com is a one-stop shop for maps from driving directions to US city maps, to world physical and political maps. Also included is a world and US factbook giving much statistical data for each individual country.

Multimap.com - Resource for maps of the UK, Europe and the USA. Also includes aerial photos, historic photos, a tube map, and driving directions.

National Geographic Map Machine - This site contains world theme maps, US maps, street maps, atlas maps, historical maps, as well as flags and facts on each country, a search facility for locating particular places, and maps of the wild world.

Ordnance Survey - Ordnance Survey is an internationally recognised market leader in its field offering a wide range of products from traditional walking maps and road maps, to large-scale maps and digital products.

Perry Castaneda Library Map Collection - A large collection (c.4,000 maps) created and maintained by the University of Texas.

Yahoo Maps - Yahoo!'s contribution to street mapping, though limited to the UK, USA, Canada and some European countries e.g. France, Germany and Spain.

Political

United Nations Cartographic Department - Contains more than 100 general maps or regions and countries, as well as specific maps such as peacekeeping maps, the world in 1945, the world today etc.

Worldmapper.com - the world as you've never seen it before. - A site offering maps showing regions of the world re-sized according to the subject of interest. Topics covered include Movement, Transport, Food, Goods, Manufacturers, Services, Resources, Fuel, Production, Work, Income, Wealth, Poverty, Housing, Education, Health, Disease, Disaster, Death, Destruction, Violence, Pollution, Depletion, Communication, Action and Exploitation.

Historical

16th -20th Centruy Maps of Africa - Online collection of 113 antique maps of Africa from Northwestern University Library.

Bolles Collection - A digital archive on the history and topography of London - Edwin C. Bolles, professor of English at Tufts College (now Tufts University) in the late 19th century, assembled a substantial focused collection of materials on Victorian London.

These materials include not only conventional print sources but many pieces that are unique or quite rare: folio descriptions of the city from limited print runs, contemporary 19th century maps in various shapes and formats, illustrations and prints from the 17th through the 19th century, that capture a precious (and now largely forgotten) record of how the British represented this city.

Historical maps from the David Rumsey collection - The David Rumsey Historical Map Collection focuses on rare 18th and 19th century North and South America cartographic history materials. Historic maps of the World, Europe, Asia and Africa are also represented.

The collection categories include old and antique atlas, globe, school geography, maritime chart, state, county, city, pocket, wall, children and manuscript maps. Genealogy and family history can be studied on the maps. The online collection is an expanding cross section of digital images designed to highlight the depth of the collection.

IAM Interactive Ancient Meditteranean - IAM is an on-line atlas of the ancient Mediterranean world.

Landmark Information Group - free historical maps of UK regions - Providing access to Britain's most extensive digital historical map archive (c.85,000 images).

Library of Congress American Memory map collection - Covers the period 1500-1999 and provides access to digital representations of maps found in the Library of Congress Geography and Maps division.
