Creative Writing

Obviously, many other literature pages may be useful for creative writing, but here are some resources of particular benefit to the Creative Writing courses here at the University.

AHDS Literature, Language & Linguistics - Hosted by the Oxford Text Archive, AHDS aims to collect, document, preserve and promote the use of digital resources to support research and teaching within the disciplines of literature, languages, and linguistics.

Mslexia - the magazine for women who write.

Poetry London - One of Britain's leading poetry magazines, bringing you poems, reviews, features and listings.

The Poetry Society - The Poetry Society exists to help poets and poetry thrive in Britain today. Established in 1909, and now one of Britain's most dynamic arts organisations, the Poetry Society is a membership organisation open to all. [University membership is curently under consideration].

The Word Hoard - The Word Hoard is a cooperative of writers, visual artists, performers and musicians, formed in 1991 in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England, originally to run the town's Poetry Festival. Since then, the co-op has developed into a multi-faceted, many-tentacled animal, with an interest in all the art forms, but usually employing text as the starting point for its projects. Produces The Text, a collection of new writings produced six times a year.
