ArtNet -  Artnet.com provides a research library giving brief information on some 16,000 artists, sculptors, photographers, architects, designers, ceramicists, graphic artists etc. Fuller articles require a subscription to the Grove Dictionary of Art online.

Axis : contemporary visual artists - "Axis provides quality information about contemporary artists and makers that champions the work of artists, nationally and internationally, and stimulates opportunities for the creation, presentation and purchase of artists' work".

Fine Art - from the Visual Arts Data Service - Some 200 digital images of art works selected from the Council for National Academic Awards Collection (CNAA), and from the collections of some of the UK’s finest art colleges and universities.
