Renewals

You may renew books as often as you wish providing they have not been reserved by another library user.

You should use the self-renewal option on the OPAC in the first instance.

If there are problems of difficulties with this you can bring the books in to the Library issue desk.

Please note that the Library is unable to accept telephone renewals

Returns

Please ensure that you return or renew your Library books by the due date.

You can check when your books are due back on the OPAC under Patron information.

Books (except Short Loan and Reserve books) can be returned to either campus.

Books returned late incur fines.

Recalls

If a book you have on loan is requested by another user you will receive a notice (usually via e-mail).

It is therefore your responsibility to check your University e-mail account on a regular basis.

You do not have to return the book until the due date (though please try and return it as soon as possible).

Books returned late incur fines of 50p per day.

Fines

Books not returned on the due date incur fines. While unpleasant to have to impose them, the Library is pleased to announce that that the majority of these have been reduced recently as follows:

  • 10p per day per book for overdue ordinary loan books
  • 50p per day for overdue recalled books
  • 50p per day for 3-day loan books
  • £1 per hour for short-loan books
  • £5.00 for uncollected inter-library loans (3 week time-limit)

You can pay for your fines by credit/debit card or cash.

NB: if your library fines amount to £5.00 you will not be allowed to borrow any more books until this is paid off.

Overdue books

Books which are overdue by more than 30 days will be considered lost.

A set charge for replacement (£30) plus an administration fee (£5) per lost book will be added to your account soon after this 30 day period.

MA Art History

After completing her post graduate certificate in Art History, Cristina Richmond’s Internship Office helped to find a placement for her in London. The Internship Office organized an interview for her with The National Gallery Company for a Picture Researcher position. What was initially a three-month contract turned into 4 years of working there (and four publications) and a career in London.
