LexisNexis Business & News - This resource is provided via a RAIUL Library subscription. The news coverage offered by LexisNexis is impressive with approximately 12,000 publications from national & local newspapers, press releases, transcripts of tv broadcasts, newswires, statistical bulletins, magazines and trade journals. The company option provides access to millions of financial reports and company profiles from around the world.

Newspaper Websites (Broadsheets)
Financial Times - Not the full-text of the Financial Times newspaper but rather the ft.com site. Registered users can read up to 30 articles per month for free. For your purposes it is better to use the LexisNexis service listed above.
The Guardian/Observer - The Guardian Unlimited site gives access to news stories from 1 September 1998 - click on Archive Search, but free content is limited. For your purposes it is better to use the LexisNexis service listed above.
The Independent - The Independent web-site was launched on 18 October 1999. Searches cover items that were on the site at that date (some dating back several months), and all those which have been added subsequently.For your purposes it is better to use the LexisNexis service listed above.
The Electronic Telegraph - Full-text of the newspaper back to 1996. Registration (free) may be required (or try the general Library username and password). For your purposes it is better to use the LexisNexis service listed above.
The Times - Full-text of the newspaper back to 1996. Free access is only to news stories from the past 7 days, otherwise each article costs £1 and involves a subscription. For your purposes it is better to use the LexisNexis service listed above

British Media Online - Access to all national and regional UK newspapers publishing online, to major news magazines and to British computer monthlies.
Journalism UK - Journalism UK is aimed at print journalists writing for UK magazines or based in the UK, and provides links to news and other resources most relevant to the UK though you can go further afield by following the links to international media organisations.
Media UK Internet Directory - A one-stop independent media directory/portal for the UK, listing websites, addresses, telephone numbers and more for all areas of the online media.
NewsNow - NewsNow, described as the first news aggregation web site dedicated to a UK audience, aims to add value to the overwhelming volume of online news and information through appropriate organisation. The goal is to take users to the news they want from the widest range of quality online sources.

Newspaper Library
British Library Newspaper Library - This web catalogue includes entries for over 52,000 newspaper and periodical titles from all over the world, dating from the 17th to the 21st century. The collections of the British Library Newspaper Library include: all UK national daily and Sunday newspapers from 1801 to the present; most UK and Irish provincial newspapers, some from the early 18th century onwards; selected newspapers from around the world in western and Slavonic languages, including extensive holdings from Commonwealth countries; and a wide range of UK and Irish popular periodicals, mainly weekly and fortnightly publications as well as some published less frequently, covering all subjects from fashion, pop music, and cinema, to sports, hobbies, and trades.
