Britannica Online - This resource is provided via a RAIUL Library subscription. - Searching the Encyclopedia Britannica online also allows you to search some 700 periodicals provided by EBSCOhost and ProQuest. - Which journals are available can be found by clicking on the LIST here. Alternatiely use the link to Britannica and search for your topic, then expand your search to include journal and magazine articles.

CEEOL : Central and Eastern European Online Library - This resource is provided via a RAIUL Library subscription. - C.E.E.O.L. is an online archive which provides access to full text PDF articles from 250 humanities and social science journals, electronic books and re-digitized documents pertaining to Central, Eastern and South-Eastern European topics.
Columbia International Affairs Online - This resource is provided via a RAIUL Library subscription. - Columbia International Affairs Online (CIAO) is the most comprehensive source for theory and research in international affairs. It publishes a wide range of scholarship from 1991 onward that includes working papers from university research institutes, occasional papers series from NGOs, foundation-funded research projects, proceedings from conferences, books, journals and policy briefs.

The database also offers links to Internet resources related to your search and is a very useful gateway to quality Internet documents.

EdResearch Online - The EdResearch Online database contains 14,439 online education research documents and articles. These form a subset of the Australian Education Index. 70% of the documents are linked to freely available full-text documents. The remaining 30% can be purchased online for AU$22 per article.
E-Journals.org - Hosted by the World Wide Web Virtual Library this is a comprehensive list of e-journals on the web, organised by subject category. Many offer free access or free access to an archive.
Electronic Journal Miner - The Electronic Journal Miner lists (and searches for) ejournals and other online serials that are available from publishers or directly from their producer (as opposed to those available from journal aggregators/databases). You can limit your search to free publications if you require.
Elsevier Science - Elsevier Science has become one of the market leaders in the publication and dissemination of literature covering the broad spectrum of scientific endeavors. Articles may be requested on inter-library loan.
Emerald Library - Help - A reputable database of 100+ management and business journals from the MCB University Press. There is no free full-text access except to journals the library has a paper subscription to,but users are welcome to browse the contents of journals and either purchase articles online or request articles on inter-library loan. The database also includes abstracts for computer science, civil engineering and computer and communications security.
ERIC Educational Resources Information Centre - The Education Resources Information Center (ERIC), sponsored by the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) of the U.S. Department of Education, provides access to the ERIC bibliographic database of more than 1.1 million citations going back to 1966. Effective October 1, 2004 more than 107,000 full-text non-journal documents (issued 1993-2004), previously available through fee-based services only, will be available for free.
eScholarship Repository - An open-access scholarly publishing centre from the University of California Digital Library, and hosting over 800,000 freely available full-text downloads, from 160 participating UC research units.
FreeFullText.com - FreeFullText.com provides direct links to over 7000 scholarly periodicals which allow some or all of their online content to be viewed by anyone with Internet access for free (though some may require free registration). The issue(s) which are available for free are indicated for each title on the alphabetical periodical lists.
Goliath - More than 3 million articles on a wide range of business topics are available from leading journals, newspapers, newswires, and magazines. - Access requires a subscription. Alternatively e-mail details of the article you want to Library staff who will consider purchase.
Highbeam Research - This resource is provided via a RAIUL Library subscription. - An archive of more than 32 million documents from over 2,800 leading publications, updated daily and going back as far as 20 years. If asked for a username and password please ask Library staff for help.
Highwire Press Help - HighWire Press is one of the two largest archives of free full-text journals in the life sciences, medicine, physical sciences and social sciences. As of 08/01/02 they are assisting in the online publication of 378,433 free full-text articles and 1million+ articles in total. The site offers some free full-text journal sites, and free access to back-issues after various time limits (e.g.1 year, 2 years, 6 months etc.)
ICAAP (International Consortium for the Advancement of Academic Publishing) - In order to raise the visibility of full-text scholarly resources on the Internet, ICAAP, in association with Sociosite, maintains a database of scholarly journals. Criteria for inclusion in this database are stringent. Only quality, full-text and inexpensive (usually free) scholarly resources are included.

IEEE Computer Society Digital Library and IEEE Xplore - This resource is provided via a RAIUL Library subscription. - Access to 21 society magazines and transactions, and more than 1,700 selected conference proceedings. - IEEE Xplore contains a comprehensive collection of full text documents, providing access to the world's most highly cited journals in electrical engineering, computer science, and electronics. The Library is happy to purchase relevant and appropriate articles for you directly from this resource.
INFOTRAC-College Help - This resource is provided via a RAIUL Library subscription. - A collection from Thomson Learning of over 15 million full-text articles from over 5000 scholarly and popular periodicals. - Articles cover a broad spectrum of disciplines and topics.

IngentaConnect - IngentaConnect is the new version combining the former Ingenta Journals and IngentaSelect (which itself was formerly Catchword). - It provides access to journals from many publishers, 28,680+ journals in total. - Those the Library has a paper (hardcopy) subscription to are available electronically for free. For others, you can search and browse the table of contents and then request articles not held locally on inter-library loan.

MyWire - MyWire provides an in-depth look at the topics that matter, including feature length articles from 300 leading publications in addition to breaking news from multiple sources. Registration is required but access is free.
New Left Review Digital Archive - This resource is provided via a RAIUL Library subscription. - Access to the content of the New Left Review from its inception in 1960 (indexed) with full-text of articles available from 1980 up until 2005. The New Left Review encompasses politics, economics, history, sociology, art and literature. The Archive can be searched by author, title or subject.
OAIster - A project of the University of Michigan Digital Library Production Service whose goal is to create a collection of freely available, previously difficult-to-access, academically-oriented digital resources that are easily searchable by anyone.
OpenDOAR (Directory of Open Access Repositories) - The OpenDOAR service is being developed to support the rapidly emerging movement towards Open Access to research information. It will categorise and list the wide variety of Open Access research archives that have grown up around the world.
Open Humanities Press - An international open access publishing collective in critical and cultural theory offering access to fully peer reviewed, scholarly publications that have been chosen by OHP's editorial advisory board for their outstanding contribution to contemporary theory. The journal titles currently available include: Comos and History, Culture Machine, Fibreculture, Film-Philosophy, International Journal of Zizek Studies, Parrhesia and Vectors.
Open Science Directory (provided by EBSCOhost) - About 13000 scientific journals are now available in the ‘Open Science Directory’, amalgamating titles in resources such as DOAJ, BioMed Central, PubMed Central and Highwire Press, along with titles in special programs such as HINARI (the Health InterNetwork Access to Research Initiative), Agora (from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN), andOARE (Online Access to Research in the Environment).
PsycArticles (now available through EBSCOhost). - This resource is provided via a RAIUL Library subscription. PsycARTICLES is an online database from the American Psychological Association, containing more than 39,000 articles from 53 peer reviewed journals published from 1985 to the present, with earlier years in production. The PsycARTICLES database covers general psychology and specialized basic, applied, clinical, and theoretical research in psychology.
PsyJournals - Search 25 psychology journals published by Hogrefe & Huber, but only 6 are in English, including European Psychologist which is the only one for which there is free online access.
Public Library of Science - Formed in 2000 by scientists and physicians to make peer-reviewed research freely accessible online to the world. - It includes PLoS Biology, PLoS Medicine, PLoS Genetics, PLoS Computational Biology, PLoS Pathogens and (in 2006) PLoS Clinical Trials.
PubMed Central - PubMed Central is the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) free digital archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature.
UK PubMed Central - Provides a stable, permanent, and free-to-access online digital archive of full-text, peer-reviewed research publications in the life sciences.
Questia - This resource is provided via a RAIUL Library subscription. - An online library that provides access to the world's largest online collection of e-books (1,500,000 titles; 67,000 complete books) and journal articles (155,000) in the humanities and social sciences, plus magazine articles (185,000) and newspaper articles (1.1 million). - For details about this database please contact Library staff.

Scielo (Scientific Electronic Library Online) Help (Click on Help button on Journal search page) - SciELO is an electronic virtual library covering a selected collection of "Brazilian" scientific journals. It provides access to a collection of serial titles, a collection of issues from individual serial titles, and access to the full-text of articles.
Social Science Research Network - The SSRN eLibrary consists of two parts: an Abstract Database containing abstracts on over 116,500 scholarly working papers and forthcoming papers and an Electronic Paper Collection currently containing over 88,100 downloadable full-text documents in Adobe Acrobat pdf format. The eLibrary also includes the research papers of a number of Fee Based Partner Publications.
