Search Richmond University:

Find Videos

At the moment the Library does not have a separate list of videos but there are several ways in which to find videos using the library catalogue:

1. If you are looking for a video on a subject then the easiest way to search for this is using Keyword relevance and typing in something like: +egypt +video.

Using the word video will pick up the videorecordings we have in the collection.

However, it will also pick up other books e.g. +shakespeare +video might also find books that talk about Shakespeare's plays being turned into film and tv adaptations etc. Using the + sign guarantees that all the records you find will contain both (or all) of the words you have searched for.

2. You can also use the Call number browse option in the catalogue and search for video as the call-number. This will give a list of all the videos starting at 0001. This list does not, on the screen you see, distinguish between videos in the Richmond collection and videos in the Kensington collection. Generally speaking, the Richmond videos are listed first.

3. Back using keyword relevance you can also search for a topic, and then select videorecording from the Quick Limit box. This should find just videos, but some work needs to be done to improve the catalogue records for this to function properly. This is being done.
