Timeline for Admissions

November

Attend the Richmond Open Day

Apply! You may apply online at www.richmond.ac.uk/ugrad_appform/ or apply via UCAS (code: R20). Prepare your application materials including your application form, personal statement, academic transcripts, letter of recommendation and £50 application fee. The priority application deadline is March 1.

December

Receive your admission decision! You should allow three to four weeks for an admission decision to be made after the receipt of the complete application in the Office of Admissions.

Then you’ll receive acceptance package which will include:

  • Acceptance letter
  • Scholarship award and acceptance contract (if applicable)
  • New student contract
  • Housing application
  • Housing booklet
  • English Language Proficiency information
  • New student photo form
  • Medical form

January

Search scholarship options. Check with your local government agencies such as the Ministry of Education. US students should obtain the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The application can be found online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov. In the US, call (800) 4 FED AID.

Prepare your enrollment confirmation forms. The following forms must be returned to the admissions office by May 1:

  • Scholarship award and acceptance contract (if applicable)
  • New student contract
  • Housing application
  • New student photo form
  • Medical form

February

Continue following up with scholarship possibilities. Pursue local inquiries. US students who have submitted the FAFSA should verify the receipt of their Student Aid Report (SAR) which should arrive four weeks after you’ve submitted the FAFSA.

NOTE: The priority application deadline for admission and scholarship is March 1.

March

Prepare your deposits. Students wishing to confirm their decision to enroll must pay their £1000 confirmation deposit by May 1. If you wish to live on campus or in student housing, you must submit your housing deposit by May 1. Housing cannot be guaranteed after this point!

April

Have you submitted your confirmation packet and deposits? Then you will be receiving your confirmation packet which will include:

  • Confirmation letter
  • Visa support document

Haven’t deposited yet? Remember, the deposit deadline to confirm your enrollment and, if applicable, housing is May 1. To pay your deposit, contact your admissions officer at +44 (0)208 332 9000.

May

Prepare Visa Application/Entry Clearance by contacting the British High Commission. Visit http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/ for visa information.

Arrange for your high school to send the admissions office your final and original transcripts. We MUST have this information before you can register for classes!

June

Invoices are out! Arrange payment of fees for your first semester which are due August 1. Fees not paid by August 1 will incur a penalty fee.

Make flight arrangements! Students living on campus should arrive the day before orientation begins. London is served by London Heathrow Airport and London Gatwick Airport.

July

Haven’t visited campus yet? Schedule an individual appointment. Sit in on a class, stay overnight, meet with an admissions counsellor and get the real experience!

Reminder: All fees are due August 1.
