Transcripts
- A Richmond transcript is the official record of your academic achievements at Richmond and carries the university seal and signature of the Registrar.
- Transcripts may be sent directly to other institutions and employers by the Registrar’s Office or given to students in sealed envelopes.
- Students may retain their transcript for their own use or forward it to other institutions.
- Other institutions will only regard transcripts as being official if the envelope is received by them unopened.
- We do not issue unofficial transcripts.
Requesting and Receiving a Transcript
- Students request transcripts by completing a transcript request form (see below). These are also available from the Registrar’s Office.
- Transcript request forms can be submitted in person, by fax, by mail or by a scanned copy via email. We cannot accept simple email requests, as all requests require a signature.
- Please fax any completed transcript request forms for the attention of the Registrar to: + 44 208 332 3050 (from the United States, please dial 011 44 208 332 3050).
- Transcripts can be collected in person from the Registrar’s Office or sent by mail or courier service, the latter for an additional fee.
- Please submit your transcript request well in advance of its required date. Every effort is made to process transcript requests within 3-5 working days, but this may take longer during busy periods. You should allow time for any queries, and for international postage (both Royal Mail and the postal system of the country to which it is being sent).
- We cannot send transcripts by fax or email.
- We regret that we do not have the resources to acknowledge transcript requests, or to routinely notify students when they are sent. If there is an issue with your transcript request (eg. insufficient address information or lack of payment information) we will contact you via email to pursue this.
Fees
Every Richmond graduate is entitled to one free transcript. This will be issued after graduation with the Open University degree certificate, so that the OU result will appear on it. Students who graduate in the Fall or Summer terms should refer to OU Validation
There is a charge of £5.00 for all other transcripts.
If courier service is requested, an additional fee of £15.00 is payable per address.
Payments can be made in person at the Accounts Office or by submitting your credit/debit card details on the transcript request form.
We cannot release transcripts on behalf of students with outstanding financial obligations to the University.
We cannot accept any responsibility, including financial, for transcripts lost in transit.
