Testimonials
Students have been extremely satisfied with the teaching they receive, especially with how they are taught to write history papers. One student coined an aphorism: ‘I write well because I am a History Major’. Many students report that The ‘History Programme Writing Guide’ was also very useful. In some history classes students are allowed to select their own essay topics and they report that they like this freedom a lot.
External Examiners’ comments about the HST program over the past few years:
‘the work of stronger students (which) compares very favourably with student work I have examined at other British universities’…… ‘
The standards set by Richmond are appropriate for this degree with regard to subject benchmarks, qualifications and the specifications for this programme.’
The quality of teaching continues to be very high indeed. There is a good deal of evidence, in the student performance, and in the feedback given to the students, of the conscientiousness and helpfulness of the teaching staff. It is possible to trace significant improvement in student performance over the course of the degree.
