Why Richmond?
In addition to being among those private, non-profit universities aspiring to the highest standards of education, Richmond’s global academic theme is particularly relevant to the most pressing issues that face the World today.
For decades, before such issues took center stage, Richmond’s core academic niche has been globalization, world consciousness and international diversity. Like never before, the future of world civilization is dependent on a higher level of global awareness and understanding of the common destiny that, finally, we all face together.
Although a small university of little more than 1,200 students, over 100 nationalities are represented within the student body. As such, Richmond students not only learn about the diversity, but they experience it firsthand among their classmates.
Richmond’s core curriculum is broad based with a prevailing theme of global awareness. Most students go on to majors in international business, international relations, computer sciences and communications. Graduates typically return to their home countries to assume positions with multi-national corporations, to pursue their own entrepreneurial interests, to become journalists or assume other professions associated with the globalization phenomenon.
Richmond University’s long tradition of international and global awareness makes the University very much the right institution, in the right location, at the right time, with the uniquely right academic emphasis to be in the forefront of educating the next generation of global leaders.
This very important endeavor cannot be financed solely by the currently enrolled students but rather needs others, who care about this issue, to help Richmond stay in the forefront of global higher education.
